Status Report #16 | Sworn To Ramble

Hello you bodacious bleached blonde babes,

Editor's Word

These are exciting times for us, things are starting to cook. Statistics and all of that crap from the relaunch have been positive. We still haven't reached the pagerank level we were at before relaunching, but I don't care, so neither should you. I just like to try and pretend like I'm important, and write something that's easy to say to start off the newsletter. Lemme think... what actually matters? Oh yeah, we finally have a new columnist! His name is Kyle Gallagher, from Kitchener. Kyle is a radio DJ who's awesomeness is not to be messed with. He's been posting on STSQ for awhile and will now be unifying his efforts under the flag of a new column called 'Letters from Kyle'.

We're also expecting a couple more new columnists to join the team in the near future, but I've sworn to my sensei to keep that shit under wraps for now. All I can say is that there will soon be a little bit more craziness and a new film column.

STATUS REPORT #15 | Relaunch & Press Release

EDITOR'S WORD

We've relaunched!!! I feel like Mad Max, but instead of being trapped in a post-apocalyptic dystopia, I'm a on the net wondering what will come of my world 'post-STSQ relaunch'. Maybe the net represents the brutal and unforgiving landscapes I must navigate to ensure my mission is completed. If that's true, than at least STSQ is now a well oiled machine, one that should suffice to get me from here to there. I'd like to extend an invitation to you to hop along for the ride.

Welcome to the New STSQ

We've been toiling away lately, trying to create the best website our little hands can muster. This is what we came up with. It's a lot like the old STSQ, but you'll notice there are many new features and the navigation is more smooth. We're working 100% from our own server now, so no more blogger bullshit*. It's liberating, but a little scary, I'm not sure if everything is working properly and there's a little more on my plate now as the webmaster, but it's worth it. I really dig the new site and I hope ya'll'll too.

Let me know what you think, good or bad, thanks, love and cheers - Swail

*I actually really enjoyed using blogger, it's got more pros than cons, and it's free. It's just less than ideal if your goal is to build a full website with unique features, rich media, etc...

Status Report #14 | a BETA world

NOBODY ever said this was gonna be easy, starting a reputable webzine I mean. The net is more complicated then maybe I thought at first, so many tools, so many networks. We're starting to get a handle on things though and I'm glad you're all on board, and still checking out the site as it evolves into what it's supposed to be, a creative culture magazine.

I know there a lot of you musicians out there who are waiting to see their stuff incorporated into the site. I'm sorry I haven't gotten around to doing much on that lately, but it's gonna freakin' happen soon, so don't stress out. I'm restructuring the way we do podcasts, it's still in a brainstorming phase, I don't wanna give birth to it before it's ready, or it could end up being... an ABOMINATION.
